Middle Eastern Studies Offers Arabic Lessons

UALR’s Middle Eastern Studies Division is offering free classes in Arabic, but space is limited.

Beginners’ Arabic is offered from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. Monday and Friday in Stabler Hall 101. Arabic Level 2 is offered from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in Stabler Hall 101. Arabic Level 3 will be offered from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in Stabler Hall 107.

Students for the Level 1 class can register by e-mailing name, student status (year, major, minor, or non-student) and why they are interested in the classes to instructor Basel Khalil.

Level 2 and 3 students require the instructor’s permission, must have successfully completed a previous UALR Arabic class, or arrange for a placement test. For more information on the two higher level classes, e-mail Khalil.

Students with a Middle Eastern Studies minor will have priority registration.

Classes are free, but instruction packets must be purchased.
