UALR to Host ‘Drunken Monkeys’ Lecture

Dr. Robert Dudley, professor of integrative biology at the University of California, Berkley, will present a lecture, “Drunken Monkeys: The Evolutionary Origins of Human Alcoholism in Primate Frugivory,” from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Dickinson Auditorium.

A discussion and question and answer session will follow the lecture. The event is free and open to the public.

Dudley’s research interests include biomechanics and comparative physiology. He will discuss how historical biological data from primates can be used to interpret modern addictive behaviors in humans.

The UALR College of Science and Mathematics, the Department of Biology, the Anthropology Club, and the Department of Sociology and Anthropology are sponsoring the lecture. For more information, contact Dr. Mark Hartmann at 501.569.3176.
