How to apply

The UALR Department of Nursing accepts students once a year for courses that begin in the summer term.  The Department of Nursing receives more applications than clinical spots available.  For acceptance, students will be ranked according to quality points. Quality points are determined by academic history in the required general education courses and the EVOLVE A2 Entrance Exam.

The Department of Nursing has a priority deadline of Feb. 28 for all students applying to the AAS RN program. Students may continue to apply after the priority deadline; however they may be placed on a waiting list.

Application process

  1. Attend Pre-Admission Advising. Nursing admissions can be a complex process depending on the individual student. Students are required to attend a group advising session prior to applying to the program.
  2. Apply to UALR. Students must apply to UALR and the Department of Nursing separately. (Previous UALR students must reapply to the institution if you have not taken classes in two years).
  3. Complete the EVOLVE A2 Nursing Entrance Exam. Students can take this exam at the UALR Testing Services and Student Life Research Office located in the Student Services Building. Call (501) 569-3198 to schedule the exam.
  4. Submit a completed, signed Department of Nursing Application, test scores, and unofficial transcripts from ALL PREVIOUS COLLEGES to the Department of Nursing. Please note, individual applications may require additional documentation such as TOEFL scores, clemency form, letters of good standing, etc. Applicants will not be considered until all documentation has been submitted.
