Graduate certificate programs, which generally require around half as many hours as a master’s degree, are one of the fastest growing components of graduate education.

Certification in Orientation and Mobility

The Online Certificate Program in Orientation and Mobility prepares professionals to provide orientation and mobility services to people who are blind or visually impaired. Orientation & Mobility Specialists provide consumers with skills to maximize environmental information and to process and utilize it to make judgments and decisions for independent travel while using their remaining vision, long canes or dog guides. The program provides the coursework and supervised fieldwork experiences required for certification by the Academy for the Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP). Graduate Certification in Rehabilitation Counseling

The Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation Counseling program prepares rehabilitation counseling professionals who will provide direct services and resource coordination for individuals with disabilities seeking re-entry into the labor market. A primary objective of the program is to permit graduates to qualify for national certification as rehabilitation counselors (CRC). Fieldwork requires a minimum of 700 hours of supervised practice in a rehabilitation setting under the supervision of a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). All courses in the curriculum, except the fieldwork, will be available online. Certification options are also available. Learn More.
