Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)

The Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program is designed to allow undergraduate students to conduct in-depth research projects in their specific fields of study with the assistance of faculty mentors. To be eligible to apply for these funds, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.25, 30 or more hours of credit toward his/her degree at the time of funding, and the support of a faculty mentor. The student must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien.

The deadline for submitting completed application materials to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is 5:00 pm, Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

ORSP will conduct a one-hour Workshop on preparing SURF materials on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the ORSP Conference Room 509, Ottenheimer Library.

Students must provide an Official Transcript for their SURF applications. Information on obtaining official transcripts can be found here.

A completed Proposal Authorization Request (PAR) form is required with your application. This can be found on the ORSP Forms page.
