UALR STUDENT RESEARCH AND CREATIVE WORKS EXPO 2012

The UALR Student Research and Creative Works Expo will offer an opportunity for both undergraduate and graduate students at UALR to showcase their research, scholarly, and creative endeavors in all disciplines. Applicable activities include, but are not limited to: thesis and dissertation projects, senior theses, honors projects, independent study projects, and course-related projects, among others. Activities may be recently completed or on-going and may be collaborative or individual.

Separate events will be held on the same day (Monday, April 16, 2012) for undergraduate and graduate student presentations. The undergraduate expo will take place in the morning and the graduate expo in the afternoon. Awards will be given for the best posters in a variety of categories by level (UG or Grad) and discipline.

Format: Poster presentations (36 inch x 48 inch poster boards will be provided).  Alternative formats such as performance or film clips must be requested in advance. For instructions to make a poster presentation click here

Deadline:The abstract submission deadline is Monday, March 26, 2012 5:00 pm

The last day to submit applications should be Thursday, March 15

The new name will be UALR “Student Research and Creative Works Expo.” The council name will be “Student Research and Creative Works Council.”

The UALR Student Research Expo will:

  • Celebrate and showcase students’ involvement in scholarly research and creative productions campus-wide
  • Provide a venue that supports UALR’s combined educational and research missions
  • Allow students to exchange ideas in a professional setting

All students will receive a participation certificate.
Awards will be given in each category.

Top Undergraduate projects in appropriate categories will be nominated for presentation in Washington, D.C., at the annual “Posters on the Hill” event organized by the Council on Undergraduate Research.  For more information, please visit http://www.cur.org/about.html.

All research by UALR researchers involving human participants, or animal subjects must be reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB), or the Institutional Biosaftey Committee (IBC)or Institutional Animal Care and Use (IACUC) committees respectively.
