Introduction
I started teaching for UALR in the fall of 2001. I am active in the National Organization for Women, and I volunteer as an usher for the Ark. Rep. Theater.
I always find the basic philosophy courses—Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics and Society—rewarding.
I also love teaching Logic, Social-Political Philosophy, Feminist Philosophy, and African-American Philosophy.
Teaching Interests
I have taught classes at Philander Smith College, Pulaski Tech College, Friends University, Baker University, University of Kansas, Hendrix College, Penn Valley Community College, and in Wichita State University.
Courses regularly taught: Introduction to Ethics, Ethics and Religion, Ethics and Society.
Research Interests
My area of specialization is feminist epistemology. I am also very interested in the philosophy of education, concerning the mentoring of women women and minority students. I have made two video programs about mentoring at Philander Smith, which I’ve shown at conferences in Boston (in 2000) and Washington, DC (in 2001). I do occasional work in philosophy and literature.
Selected Professional Activities
“The Monstrous as an Aspect of Otherness in 19th Century Women’s Gothic Fiction,” presentation for an honors class at Philander Smith College.
