Environmental Health & Safety

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) office oversees EHS requirements for the UALR campus in complying with federal, state and local regulations including NFPA fire codes, Arkansas Department of Labor (ADOL) safety codes and the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ). The EHS office also performs other safety related duties included in the following categories:

  • Chemical hygiene
  • Asbestos assessment and abatement
  • Hazardous material disposal
  • ADA compliance
  • Accident investigation
  • Lamp recycling
  • Laboratory safety
  • Elevator safety

The EHS department provides “hands on” safety training for Physical Plant employees as well as the campus community upon request.
