International Lunar Day September 22, 2012

CAAS will join with the UALR Physics and Astronomy Dept. Museum of Discovery (MOD), Central Arkansas Library System Main Branch and Arkansas Studies Institute for a day and night of lunar themed activities.

Steve Arnold of the Science Channel’s TV show “Meteorite Men” will be the guest of honor (courtesy of UALR) that day and will be appearing at MOD around 1:00 p.m. to 3: 00 p.m., he will also be on the observing field that evening for telescope views of the Moon.

Schedule of events:
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - (Museum of Discovery) Construct a Lunar Base Activity for kids, Tinker Shop, Museum of Discovery

1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. - “Meteorite Man” Steve Arnold lecture in the Museum of Discovery Great Hall (Sponsored by the UALR Physics and Astronomy Department)
