University of Arkansas at Little Rock
Policy Name: Tuition Waiver for Sixty and Older
Policy Number: LR 303.4
Effective Date: August 1, 2012

Policy

This policy provides guidance for the application of the age 60 and over tuition waiver.

Any Arkansas resident age 60 or over who has been admitted as a student at UALR shall receive a waiver of all tuition and student fees for courses in which that student is enrolled for credit. However, admission fees will not be waived.

The waiver of tuition and student fees will be granted on a space available basis. As such, 60 and older students qualifying for the waiver will be permitted to register only on the last day of the regular registration period and the entire late registration period each academic term. Students may be permitted to register at other times if they elect to forgo the tuition waiver.

Students eligible for the Sixty and Over Tuition Waiver will not be subject to late registration fees, late payment fees, or any collection actions. However, students will not be allowed to register in the future until all prior balances are paid in full.

Verification of age will be required in the first semester a student qualifies for and accepts the waiver. A valid Arkansas driver’s license or other forms of government-issued identification which establish identity and date of birth will be accepted as verification.
