Policy

This policy contains general information regarding campus-wide discussion lists, the UA Little Rock Acceptable Use Policy and the UA Little Rock Network Security Policy.

Campus-wide Discussion Lists:

FacFocus. A discussion list for subscribers for university-related business. Any message posted to FacFocus should be relevant to a majority of campus employees and to the operation of the university. The memorandum titled On the Use of FacFocus contains a policy statement regarding appropriate use. To subscribe, send an e-mail message to “listserv@ualr.edu” with a blank subject line and type “subscribe facfocus your name” in the first line of the message.

StafFocus. A discussion list for subscribers for university-related business specific to staff issues. To subscribe, send an e-mail message to “listserv@ualr.edu” with a blank subject line and type “subscribe staffocus your name” in the first line of the message.

Classifieds. A discussion list for subscribers to advertise items and merchandise offered for sale to those subscribed to the list. To subscribe, send an e-mail message to “listserv@ualr.edu” with a blank subject line and type “subscribe classifieds your name” in the first line of the message.

Dialog. A discussion list for subscribers for political discussions. To subscribe, send an e-mail message to “listserv@ualr.edu” with a blank subject line and type “subscribe dialog your name” in the first line of the message.

Information Technology Services automatically creates class discussion lists for every class at the beginning of each semester. Additionally, specific use discussion lists, such as the ones for both the Faculty and Staff Senates, are created upon request.

To create a discussion list, please reference and follow the directions located at https://ualr.edu/scripts/create_mailing_list.pl.

UA Little Rock Acceptable Use Policy and the UA Little Rock Network Security Policy:

UA Little Rock has two policies that relate to the appropriate use of the UA Little Rock network and computer systems. The UA Little Rock Acceptable Use Policy is located at ualr.edu/policy/home/admin/information-technology-it-acceptable-use-policy/. The UA Little Rock Network Security Policy is at ualr.edu/policy/network-security-208-2/. Please review these policies regularly to ensure your understanding of the appropriate use of the UA Little Rock network and computer systems.
