New bid threshold

New changes in the procurement law took effect on Friday, August 16. The major change that affects all departments is that small purchases totaling less than $10,000 may be made without bid procedures, except for printing and contract items. Although bidding is not usually required below $10,000, departments are advised to prudently seek the best pricing in an effort to spend your funds wisely. Raising the bid threshold from $5,000 to $10,000 is expected to have a great impact on all departments.
