Should you shop locally or online?

Have you considered that shopping online may not be the most cost-effective way to shop? It is true that the item you want to purchase online may cost less than the one you have seen in a local store, or even at another online vendor. However, consider this. Is it still the best purchase for your dollar after shipping charges have been added?

The next time you order online, will you consider taking a few extra minutes to do a cost comparison between a local vendor and one or two online vendors to see if it affects the bottom line total? Then email Procurement Services (dshankins@ualr.edu) and tell us what you have discovered. Did it make a difference in the way you will shop in the future?
