Université d’Orléans—Orléans, France

The program has been designed to provide students with the opportunity to study French in a context where they will have an occasion to use it on a daily basis. In addition, the program seeks to develop students’ understanding of culture through a combination of classroom and field experiences, drawing on local resources to enhance the learning process. A further goal of the program is to increase students’ awareness of local customs and lifestyles by housing them with native host families.

UALR students can participate in semester, year-long, or summer programs in Orléans, France. Because UALR has an active exchange agreement with Université d’Orléans, students can study abroad for a semester or year in Orléans while paying UALR tuition and fees (tuition and fees at the host university are waived for exchange students). The Office of Programs Abroad determines eligibility and admission to the program; in most cases, a minimum of six semester hours of French language credit and a GPA of 2.5 is required for program admission.

Please see the Université d’Orléans website for more information on summer or semester/year-long programs.
