Donate $10 Campaign: Progress Update
The Donate $10 Campaign raised $1000. during Fall 2011. The funds were awarded to 11 UALR students who applied for the short-term study abroad scholarship. Donations are always accepted and will continue to be used to support our students.
As part of our mission, Programs Abroad, in partnership with various units of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, strives to provide support and services to the programs abroad community of students, faculty, staff and parents. This Fall semester we have taken on the intiative to increase the number of scholarships and financial assistance we can provide to encourage study abroad at multiple levels.

The Goal of the Donate $10 Campaign
The goal of the Donate $10 Campaign is for 100 people to donate at least $10 to the Study Abroad Foundation Account by the end of the 2011 Fall Semester. The name of each person who donates will be added to the wall in the study abroad office to recognize their support of study abroad. Contributions will be used to decrease the student cost of UALR Study Abroad Programs.
Why Should I Support Study Abroad?
Studying abroad has been shown to increase retention rates, enhance academic learning, encourage independence and adaptability, influence students’ career paths and marketability in the job market, & much more. UALR has a nontraditional student population where many individuals work, have families, and/or have never traveled outside of Arkansas. It is time to help students push past their boundaries by giving them the opportunity to explore a different part of the world from an academic prospective.
