International Identity Cards

International Student Services is an authorized vendor of the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) and the International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC). If you are a full-time student or teacher, you are eligible for an International Student Identity Card. This card will give you proof of identity in over 100 countries worldwide.

The ISIC also provides supplemental health insurance coverage. This plan covers emergency medical evacuation in case your illness or injury cannot be treated overseas, and repatriation of remains in case of death. Most private health care plans do not incorporate this kind of coverage. This is why many program sponsors are either providing a special overseas insurance plan or requiring the card.

Not only do you receive the medical coverage and discounts while overseas, but you also have access to a toll-free help line for assistance with medical, legal, or financial emergencies. It also acts as a phone card, which you can ‘recharge’ on-line. In addition, you can use the card in the United States for special student discounts on airlines, lodging, international phone calls and international money transfers. The card comes with a detailed hand book that provides information on all its uses.

The benefits of the ISIC card can be found at their website, where it lists both the cultural and medical benefits!
