Summer Programs

UALR offers a variety of options for students who are interested in studying abroad during the summer semester. These option include Faculty-led Programs, Summer Language Programs, and affiliated summer programs offered by UALR exchange partners (see below).

Graz

Graz University Summer School: Be an exchange student for two weeks in the summer! Pay UALR tuition and fees for 6 credit hours and participate in the program at a reduced cost to cover only accommodation and excursions. TUSA Program - Pingtung, Taiwan

Taiwan
The Taiwan-United States Sister Relations Alliance (TUSA) Summer Scholarship Program is an Ambassador program. A unique program especially designed for students who will be representing their state as well as the United States, acting as ambassadors to Taiwan.

A stipend of US $800 per month for two months (July & August) will be awarded to each scholarship recipient. The scholarship is budgeted to cover tuition, dormitory fees, 4 excursions and incidental insurance. You must provide your own airfare to and from Taiwan.

  • American Institute for Foreign Study: Programs offered in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Africa. Scholarships and discounts are available for UALR students - $500 scholarship available (e-mail studyabroad@ualr.edu for more information)
  • Globalinks - Learning Abroad: Programs offered in Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Scholarships and discounts are available for UALR students - $500 affiliation discount on all Globalinks Programs, Globalinks application fee waiver, & Globalinks Affiliation Scholarships.
  • Sol Education: Programs offered in Costa Rica, Argentina, Spain, and Mexico.
  • Academic Programs International (API): Programs offered in 13 plus countries some include Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Qatar, and UAE. Scholarships are available for UALR students applying to API programs through the UALR Programs Abroad Office.
  • World Endeavors: Programs offered in 20 plus countries some include Thailand, Ghana, Philippines, Nepal, Scotland, Ireland, Chile, Italy, and Costa Rica. Scholarships are available for all UALR students applying to a World Endeavor Program.
  • Study Abroad Compass: Programs offered in Poland and the Czech Republic. UALR Students receive a $250 discount on programs.
  • Academic Studies Abroad: Programs offered in Ireland, Argentina, Costa Rica, Chile, Scotland, Peru, Italy, and more. Scholarships Available.
  • CIS Abroad: With this program provider, you can choose to study abroad from over 15 different countries, or intern from over 10 different countries. UALR student receive discounted prices with CIS Abroad!
  • SIT Study Abroad: A pioneer in experiential and field based study abroad, SIT offers programs in over 40 countries.
  • International Studies Abroad (ISA): Programs offered in 19 plus countries some include Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Jordan, Morocco, Panama, and South Korea. UALR Students receive $200 off the program cost for ISA programs.
