Parking and Student Patrol

I am a student at U.A.L.R. Where am I allowed to park?

All students who wish to park a vehicle on campus must first register their vehicle with the Department of Public Safety. To register your vehicle you will need to know your student ID # or your T#, make, model, basic color of your car, and your license plate number. The fee for one parking permit is included in the general fee calculated with tuition. Additional permits are available for a one time fee of $20.00. A free temporary permit is available in the event a student drives a different car for a short period of time (up to two weeks).

Once a parking permit is obtained and placed on a registered vehicle, you may park in any of the “open parking” lots. This includes lot #’s 12, 13W, 13E, 14, 15, parking lot on east side of university plaza, and angled parking on Campus Drive West (the one way street coming into campus) after the crosswalk.

Students are also allowed to park in the metered lots or U.A.L.R.’s parking deck. The fee for parking in the meter lots is $1.00 per hour with a 2 hour time limit, and the fee for the parking deck is $1.00 per exit.

Students may apply for reserved parking in one of the gated parking lots on campus. Reserved parking fees are $150.00 annually for twenty four hour access). Lot choices are lot #’s 1, 2, and the lower level of the parking deck. Reserved parking is available on a first come first served basis.

All full time employees will receive one parking permit at no charge; additional permits are available for a one time fee of $20.00.

What happened to night time reserved parking?

Night time reserved parking was an option that was available to students who wished to park in a reserved lot after 4 p.m. for $60 annually. The university discontinued night time reserved parking in the fall of 2006 and replaced it with free parking in the reserved lots after 4 p.m. Any faculty member, staff member, or student can park in a gated lot after 4 p.m. by swiping their U.A.L.R. picture ID in the proper slot at the gate. If you look on the back of the ID, there is a black stripe from one side to the other. You will swipe the card in the reader with this stripe up.
