The theme of the 9th annual Racial Attitudes in Pulaski County Conference was “Arkansas Media, Race, and Ethnicity: Accountability, Responsibility, and Opportunity.” The conference included a panel discussion where media professionals discussed news reporting as it relates to racial and ethnic issues in Arkansas. UALR has conducted annual racial attitude surveys since 2003. We welcome the community to join us in working to continue to seek solutions to issues of race relations.

“This is a difficult issue that in many communities, not just here, has been cloaked by a code of silence, which makes it easier to pretend it does not exist. You have to face it to fix it. . . . I believe this annual survey will help us speed progress in our community on a most fundamental problem,” Chancellor Joel E. Anderson.
