Definition of Fields:

Subject:

This field is used to find courses that are listed under that subject area. When doing a search this field is required, which means at least one subject must be selected. Multiple selections are allowed.

Course Number:

This field is used to limit a search to a specific set of course number(s). This is not a required field. Using a percent sign (%) as a wild card is permitted. Example: ‘%3’ will pull all courses with the number three in the course number. Placing only a ‘3’ will pull those courses with course numbers that starts with a ‘3’.

Title:

This will allow the search to be limited to the title. The search can be run with only a portion of the title regardless of location in the title or the entire title itself. When using the entire title, it must match what is in the system.

Part-of-Term:

Part-of-term is mainly used for Summer sessions. The summer term is a whole term with multiple parts-of-term. During the summer period it would be possible to search by the individual parts, such as Summer 1. Multiple selections are allowed.

Schedule Type:

This allows searches to be done by schedule type. Schedule types are courses taught as Lectures, Labs, Seminars, or other options. Multiple selections are allowed.

Instructor:

This allows searches by any instructor in the system assigned to teach any course(s). When searching by instructor be sure to have selected the subject areas that instructor teaches. Multiple selections are allowed in this field.

Session:

Searching by sessions allows individuals to select courses that are taught during a block of time. Day, Night, and Weekend are the sessions used for courses taught on the main campus. Classes taught on the law campus have other options available. Multiple selections are allowed.

Attribute Type:

Attributes are additional information assigned to courses that allow a search to be more specific to an individual. For example, searching by this field can narrow classes to those that are only taught off-campus and are considered upper level. This field allows multiple selections.

Start/End Time:

Selecting the time for a class allows individuals to choose to a specific time frame. Selecting a Start and End time will only select those courses that fall exactly in between the times selected. Picking only a start time will display any courses that start at or after time chosen. Selecting an end time will display any courses that end before that time.

Days:

This allows the selection of specific day(s) of the week to display only those courses on the day(s) that is needed.
