The items below are designated as “Public or Directory Information” by the University of Arkansas and may be released for any purpose at the discretion of the University.
Under the provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, you have the right to withhold the disclosure of any or all of the categories of “Directory or Public Information” listed below. These include: Student’s name; address; telephone number; date and place of birth; nationality; religion preference; major field of study; classification by year; number of hours in which enrolled and number completed; parents’ and spouses’ names and addresses; marital status; participation in officially recognized activities and sports; weight and height of members of athletic teams; dates of attendance including matriculation and withdrawal dates; degrees, scholarships, honors, and awards received, including type and date granted; most recent previous educational agency or institution attended; and photograph.
All students must contact the Office of Records and Registration in person to request that directory information not be disclosed. This request will remain in effect until lifted by student in writing. In the event of such request, this data will be treated as student records information.
Please consider very carefully the consequences of any decision by you to withhold any category of “Directory or Public Information.” Should you decide to request the University not to release any or all of this “Directory of Public Information” any future requests for such information from non-institutional persons or organizations will be refused.
The University will honor your request to withhold any of the categories listed but cannot assume responsibility to contact you for subsequent permission to release them. Regardless of the effect upon you, the institution assumes no liability for honoring your instructions that such information be withheld.
