Transient status is limited to one semester. Further enrollment in this status is not permitted.
Students Who Have Attended UALR Previously
If you have attended another college or university since the
last time you took classes at UALR (including summers) you must
reapply for admission and follow the directions given above for transfer students.
If the last time you attended classes at UALR was within the
last two years and you have not attended another university or
college during the interim, you may re-enroll.
Students who have not attended UALR in the last two years must reapply.
Change of Status
If you are a temporary or transient student and wish to be
a regular degree-seeking student, you must complete a new Web
application. This change is initiated on-line at http://boss.ualr.edu/
Student Orientation
New student orientation sessions will be offered prior to the
beginning of the fall semester. You will receive a brochure and
registration card with dates, places, and times.
The orientation program assists you in making a smooth
transition to the University and to college life. During the
session you will receive information about: the University;
resources and services; academic/non-academic policies and regulations
which will directly affect you; and registration. In addition, you
will meet administrators, faculty, staff, and other students.
New students are encouraged to attend orientation and to
explore our UALR Cyber-orientation site. To access Cyber-orientation,

Entrance Tests
The University requires either the ACT or the SAT as part of
the admissions requirements. Entering freshman who have not taken
one of these in the last five years may take the ACT Residual.
Information about dates, deadlines, and procedures is available in
Testing Services.
Placement Tests
Placement in mathematics, freshman composition, and reading
courses generally is based upon ACT or SAT scores. Students
with scores below the proficiency level required in these areas
must take developmental courses. In some cases, students may
take placement tests to validate skills and bypass developmental
courses. Contact the Office of Testing Services in Ross Hall 409
