How to file for Graduation

Applications are located in the Office of Records and Registration and all department offices. Follow these steps:
  1. Complete the on-line application. You will receive an e-mail notifying you that it has been submitted.
  2. If you are a doctorate student, pay the $80 doctorate graduation fee at the Cashier’s Office.
  3. Once you have submitted your application, your major department will receive it. When your major department completes their portion, it is submitted to your college and then to the Office of Records and Registration.
  4. You may check the status of your application through your BOSS account

If you have any questions concerning your graduation status, you may contact your major department or college.

Major Degree Plan
All undergraduate degree-seeking candidates must officially declare a major through the Records and Registration Office and file a degree plan through their advisor.

Grade Point Average
Your cumulative grade point average must be at least 2.00 for an undergraduate student and at least 3.00 for a graduate student. The requirements may be higher for your major. Check with your advisor.

Developmental Courses
Developmental courses (i.e., courses beginning with “0”) do not count towards graduation. You will need to subtract these course hours from the total shown by the computer.

Total Hour Requirement
The minimum number of hours required for an associate’s degree is 62. A bachelor’s degree requires at least 124. A master’s degree requirements vary by program. Contact the appropriate graduate coordinator.
