University College

New first time freshman who choose not to accept participation in UALR’s Four-Year Graduation Agreement or are ineligible are advised in University College. Continuing students who have been admitted to UALR and are undeclared majors (except temporary, transient, provisional, and post-baccalaureate students) must call or stop by to make an appointment for advising. University College Office of Academic Advising is located in Ross Hall 406, 569-3386. E-mail Advising is available for undeclared continuing students who are eligible. The deadline for e-mail advising for the Spring 2007 semester is October 30, 2006. Please check at www.ualr.edu/advising for eligibility requirements.

Students interested in majors offered in the Donaghey College of Information Science and Systems Engineering need to contact the appropriate department for academic advising.

Four-Year Graduation Agreement (ACT 1014)

At UALR, we are dedicated to helping our students discover and achieve their educational goals. All of UALR’s degree programs offer advising tailored to the individual and degree plans to guide students towards graduation. In the fall of 2006, we will begin a new program for eligible first-time freshmen who want to select a major during their first semester at UALR so that they may graduate in four-years of planned, closely supervised study. It’s known as the UALR Four-Year Graduation Agreement (produced in accordance with ACT 1014). The UALR Four-Year Graduation Agreement is about shared responsibilities: If you agree to make an early commitment to a major, work closely with your advisor, and follow all of the requirements of the agreement, UALR can provide you with a degree plan to guide you to graduation in four years. Most four-year degree programs at UALR offer the Four-Year Graduation Agreement (to view a list of included majors, please visit http://www.ualr.edu/provost/act1014/advisors.shtml). All students eligible for the Four-Year Graduation Agreement will be required to either accept or waive participation in the program prior to or during their first advising session. For more information about the Four Year Graduation Agreement option, visit http://www.ualr.edu/provost/act1014/about.shtml.
