As you begin your final year at UALR, it’s time to prepare for graduation. Before the cap and gown, before the ceremony, before the celebration, comes the paperwork. This information outlines what you must do to apply for graduation. If you have questions that aren’t answered here, contact the Office of Records and Registration at (501) 569-3110.

Application Process

Dates for applying are listed below as well as in the Academic Calendar. You may also contact your advisor or the Office of Records and Registration.

Graduation Application Deadline Date

Summer 2007 June 15, by 5 p.m.
Fall 2007October 5, by 5 p.m.

How to file for Graduation

Applications are available on-line through your BOSS account.
  1. Complete the on-line application. You will receive an e-mail notifying you that it has been submitted.
  2. If you are a doctorate student, pay the $80 doctorate graduation fee at the Cashier’s Office.
  3. Once you have submitted your application, your major department will receive it. When your major department completes their portion, it is submitted to your college and then to the Office of Records and Registration.
  4. You may check the status of your application through your BOSS account.

If you have any questions concerning your graduation status, you may contact your major department or college.

Major Degree Plan

All undergraduate degree-seeking candidates must officially declare a major on-line through his/her BOSS account and file a degree plan through their advisor

Grade Point Average

Your cumulative grade point average must be at least 2.00 for undergraduate and at least 3.00 for a graduate student. The requirements may be higher for your major. Check with your advisor.

Developmental Courses

Developmental courses (i.e., courses beginning with “0”) do not count towards graduation. You will need to subtract these course hours from the total shown by the computer.

Total Hour Requirement

The minimum number of hours required for an associate’s degree is 62. A bachelor’s degree requires at least 124. A master’s degree requirements vary by program. Contact the appropriate graduate coordinator.
