Academic Advising
Once you have submitted your official admission test scores (i.e. ACT, SAT, Accuplacer) you may begin the process of being academically advised. To learn more about being advised you may go to the Academic Advising homepage.
Being advised is an important step in the registration process. Most students will have an Advising Flag placed on their account which will prohibit registration. Only an academic advisor may lift this flag.
Only those who are Undeclared will continue with the Office of Academic Advising for their academic advising needs. Once you have declared your major or decided to participate in UALR’s four year graduation program (GAP-1014) then you will need to go to your major’s department to be advised. Also, if you are currently undeclared but plan to declare a major that falls under the College of Engineering and Information Technology (i.e. Applied Science, Computer Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or Information Science) then you will also need to be advised with that major’s department. You will find links to your department’s college below:
- College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
- College of Business
- College of Education
- College of Engineering and Information Technology
- College of Professional Studies
- College of Science and Mathematics
Once you have been advised you may begin registering for your classes. To do so you must log into your BOSS account.
