Academic Advising

Once you have submitted your official admission test scores (i.e. ACT, SAT, Accuplacer) you can begin the process of being academically advised.  To learn more about being advised you can visit the Academic Advising homepage

Being advised is an important step in the registration process.  Most students will have an Advising Flag placed on their account which will prohibit registration.  Only an academic advisor may lift this flag.

Students who haven’t declared a major will need to contact the Office of Academic Advising to be advised. Once you have declared your major, or decided to participate in UALR’s four year graduation program (GAP-1014), then you will need to visit your major’s department to be advised. You can find contact information for each department’s advisor by visiting:

Also, if you are currently undeclared but plan to declare a major that falls under the College of Engineering and Information Technology (i.e., Applied Science, Computer Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or Information Science, etc.) then you will also need to be advised with that major’s department.

Once you have been advised you may begin registering for your classes.  To do so you must log into your BOSS account.
