Radu F. Babiceanu, Assistant Professor of Systems Engineering
Dr. Babiceanu joined the Department of Systems Engineering in the Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology in the Fall 2006 semester. His research uses the systems engineering process and tools, and computational intelligence methodologies for the design and operation of complex enterprise systems, such as manufacturing, supply chain, transportation, and health-care systems. More specifically, Dr. Babiceanu’s research includes requirements identification, architecture development, conceptual and detailed design, operational analysis, integration, and evaluation of systems, considering their life-cycle effectiveness and sustainability characteristics. Methodologies such as optimization, decision analysis, discrete-event modeling and simulation, and complex event processing are combined with the multi-agent systems framework and computational intelligence meta-heuristic algorithms to provide measures of system effectiveness.
