Jeffrey S. Gaffney, Chair of Chemistry Department

Dr. Gaffney is an internationally known atmospheric and environmental chemist who is currently funded by the Department of Energy’s Atmospheric Systems Research program to conduct climate change research on aerosols. Working closely with Dr. Nancy Marley of the Graduate Institute of Technology, Dr. Gaffney came to UALR in July of 2006 from Argonne National Laboratory where he was Senior Chemist and Lead Scientist for the Megacity Aerosol Experiment - Mexico City - that was a joint project on climate change and air quality called MILAGRO. Currently Dr. Gaffney is on the Steering Committee for the upcoming Ganges Valley Experiment - GVAX that will be undertaken in April 2011 through March 2012.
