Tansel Karabacak, Assistant Professor of Applied Science
Dr. Tansel Karabacak has been serving in UALR Department of Applied Science as an Assistant Professor since 2006. Dr. Karabacak received his BS degree in Physics at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. He conducted his PhD study at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Department of Applied Physics in the field of growth dynamics of thin film coatings and glancing angle deposited (GLAD) nanostructures. His doctoral research led to various awards including American Vacuum Society Graduate Research Award. After he got his PhD degree in 2003, Dr. Karabacak worked on various projects on the properties and applications of GLAD nanostructures. As of May 2010, he is the author and co-author of about fifty journal papers, twenty conference proceedings, one book chapter, one patent, and several pending patents.
