UALR recognizes the benefit of having individuals from other institutions and organizations visit to learn and exchange ideas and expertise. These opportunities foster intellectual development and research collaborations. UALR has established guidelines governing the appointment of visiting scholars and faculty.
Visiting Scholars are appointed for short term, usually one year or less, while on leave from another institution of higher education or other organization. They may participate in scholarly or research activities in a sponsoring department or school. Visiting Scholars serve without pay from UALR; they might be paid by their home institution, for example.
If you are interested in becoming a Visiting Scholar at UALR, please contact the faculty member with whom you would like to collaborate. That faculty member will begin the appointment process with our office.
