University community members are informed of security procedures and safety practices through a variety of venues. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to consider the safety needs of others as well as their own and to take a proactive, responsible approach to these issues.
Information is provided through:
- Orientation programs for students, parents, faculty, and staff
- Residence hall programs
- Campus Crime Alerts and Police Notices
- In-class presentation
- Advocacy services and student activity programs
- Student newspaper feature and columns
- Police logs
The provision of these programs and services, as well as others created to serve campus security and safety needs, is consistent with the university’s mission to promote humane sensitivities and the understanding of interdependence.
