New Transfer Student

What we look for & what you need to know:

  • A New Transfer Student is an Arkansas resident or domestic non-resident who has completed university coursework at another college or university after high school graduation.
  • Eligibility for new transfer scholarships will be based on your ranking among other applicants in the pool.
  • To rank you, we consider your cumulative transfer GPA and other academic markers that are in the UA Little Rock system as of March 1st plus demonstrated financial need.
  • Priority consideration will be given to applicants who submit all requirements by the December 1 priority deadline. Final deadline is March 1.

Scholarship Description Amount
Academic All-Star Scholarship

Awarded at time of admission

  • Must be named an Academic All-Star at an Arkansas two-year college
Tuition and fees for 15 hours of enrollment per semester
Contiguous State Waiver

Awarded at time of admission

  • Must meet requirements for unconditional admission
  • be degree seeking
  • Reside in a contiguous state (OK, MO, TN, MS, LA, or TX)
Waives out-of-state portion of tuition
New Arkansan Non-Resident Tuition Award

Awarded at time of admission for students not receiving an out-of-state tuition waiver.

  • 3.0 minimum cumulative transfer GPA plus a minimum of 24 transfer hours to be eligible to receive an 80% award. (if fewer than 24 transfer hours, must have a 24ACT or equivalent SAT plus a minimum 3.0 high school GPA in order to be eligible)
  • 3.30 minimum cumulative transfer GPA plus a minimum of 24 transfer hours to be eligible to receive a 90% award. (if fewer than 24 transfer hours, must have a 26ACT or equivalent SAT plus a minimum 3.5 high school GPA in order to be eligible)
Pays 80-90% of the difference between resident and nonresident tuition
Privately-funded Scholarships

Final deadline: 3/1

Scholarships funded thru the generosity of private donors. Criteria varies with each scholarship.

  • Must submit FAFSA by March 1 to be considered

  • Minimum of 45 transferable credit hours from an Arkansas two-year college, completed as of scholarship deadline
  • an Arkansas resident
  • 3.25 minimum cumulative transfer GPA at the time of application
  • Only available to first-time UA Little Rock students

Apply for admission
If you are just starting at UA Little Rock, make sure you have completed the online admissions application, or proceed if you are a continuing student.

Have a current FAFSA application on file
You must have your current FAFSA completed for the award year in which you are applying, prior to the scholarship opportunity deadline in order to be considered.
