General
Bernice Robinson Webb Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student enrolled in the College of Education who is planning to become a teacher. Preference will be given to juniors and seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
Chardae “Yukobaby” Graham Book Grant
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student in the College of Education. Preference will be given to a minority student. Applicants must have a GPA between 2.0 and 2.75 and be at least a sophomore level student. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
Charles D. and Angela C. Maynard and Angela Maynard Sewall Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in a master’s or doctoral program within the College of Education. Preference will be given to master’s level students. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
Dr. Rose A. Berry Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time, junior or senior who demonstrates potential as a teacher or for contributing to the profession of education. Academic accomplishment, leadership and financial need will all be considered.
Gene V. Campbell Scholarship
Awarded to full-time or part-time graduate students majoring in Education. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be considered. Scholarships awarded in even numbered years only.
Irene, John Dale, and Hugh Stanphill Scholarship
Awarded to full-time or part-time graduate or undergraduate students. Financial need is strongly considered. The scholarship is renewable if undergrad recipients maintain a 3.0 GPA and graduate recipients maintain a 3.25 GPA.
Counseling, Adult, and Rehabilitation Education
Marguerite Flake Scholarship*
Preference will be given to undergraduates or graduates majoring in the education of the handicapped or in the teaching of reading.
Trebing Graduate Assistant Fund
Awarded to graduate students pursuing a master’s degree in Orientation and Mobility Instruction, Rehabilitation Teaching, or Classroom Teaching of the Visually Handicapped.
Department of Teacher Education
Annie Lee Jones Jolly Scholarship
Preference will be given to students majoring in Early Childhood Education or Middle Childhood Education with high academic standing, scholarship, and service. Exceptional financial need may also be considered.
Bessie Moore Scholarship
Awarded to undergraduates or graduates majoring in Early Childhood Education. Applicants must submit a narrative describing their interest in early childhood development as a profession.
Bettye McDonald Caldwell and Fred T. Caldwell, Jr. Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in Early Childhood Education at UALR. Preference will be given to junior and senior level students with acceptable earlier academic performance who wish to become certified Early Childhood Education teachers. In exceptional instances, applicants who have not reached junior status will be considered. Students who intend to continue working part-time will be given full consideration. Academic accomplishments (3.0 GPA or above) and financial need will be strongly considered.
Geneva Jones Winters Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in early childhood education with special consideration given to those considering a career working with children in kindergarten or first grade. Academic achievement and financial need will be considered.
Lois Walters ADK Scholarship
Awarded to full-time or part-time students majoring in elementary education or elementary administration. Academic achievement and financial need will be considered.
Lynn Nelson Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a student pursuing a career in child development.
Marguerite Flake Scholarship*
Preference will be given to undergraduates or graduates majoring in the education of the handicapped or in the teaching of reading.
Sandra Murphree Newell Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in a teacher preparation program with preference given to juniors or seniors in middle childhood or secondary education. Preference will be given to students who wish to become teachers and are working toward their initial licensure as teachers. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.75.
Susan K. Philpott Memorial Fund
Awarded to graduate students majoring in Special Education.
William D. Lynch Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student who is fully admitted to the Reading Recovery or Reading graduate program. Academic achievement and financial need will be considered.
