Laverne Sheard-Britton Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student in the College of Professional Studies. Preference will be given to freshman level students who are from a single parent home. Applicant must demonstrate academic accomplishment and financial need.
Rosa Pfeifer Isacson Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student in the College of Professional Studies. Applicant must have extreme financial need and must have demonstrated a commitment to their course of study.

Beth Butler Easton East Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a first year, full-time master’s level student marjoring in speech pathology or audiology. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
Dwane F. Treat Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in speech pathology or audiology. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
Leah Katayama Wilkins Endowed Award
Awarded to a first year graduate student majoring in speech pathology or audiology. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
Nan Ellen Dickinson East Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in speech pathology or audiology. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.

Charles Chastain Criminal Justice Founding Chair Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in Criminal Justice. Student must maintain a minimum 2.50 GPA.
Correctional Leadership Challenge Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in Criminal Justice with preference given to graduate students. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered. This scholarship is renewable, but the recipient must re-apply annually.
David O. Dillinger Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in Criminal Justice with preference given to senior level or graduate students. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered. This scholarship is renewable, but the recipient must re-apply annually.
Gene Tolliver Annual Student Assistance Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in Criminal Justice. Preference will be given to junior and senior level students. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
Harold R. Zook Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in Criminal Justice. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered. Preference will be given to applicants who are at the top of their graduating class of Metropolitan Career Technical Center.
John A. Boyeskie Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in Criminal Justice with preference given to second-year graduate students. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
Louie Caudell Rotary Club of Little Rock Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time Little Rock Police Department officers who are majoring in Criminal Justice at UALR.
Melissa Ma Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in criminal justice or a related field with the intention of working within the law enforcement community. Preference will be given to current police officers. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered along with dedication to the profession.
Rick Finley Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to full-time or part-time graduate or undergraduate students pursuing a degree in law enforcement or a related field. Applicants must have financial need, good academic standing, and be the child of a current or retired police officer or child of a police officer slain in the line of duty.
Rob Williams Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to graduate or undergraduate students pursuing a degree in law enforcement with consideration given to academic standing, child of current or retired police officer slain in the line of duty, or current police officer. Only the most serious and highly qualified students will be considered for this scholarship. Applicant must display the level of professionalism and social awareness that will make them a leader among law enforcement officials.

Arkansas Broadcasters Association Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to an incoming junior or senior in the Radio, Television, and Film Program. Student must have at least a 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need. Each applicant’s character, overall performance and promise in the broadcasting field will also be considered.
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Scholarship
Awarded to students with at least sophomore standing who are interested in newspaper journalism and have a journalism major or minor.
Arkansas Newspaper Foundation Scholarship
Awarded to students of at least sophomore standing who are majoring or minoring in journalism. Applicant must demonstrate academic promise, financial need, and interest in the newspaper field.
Dr. David M. Guerra News Scholarship
Awarded to one or more full-time students majoring in electronic news sequence. Preference will be given to juniors and seniors with 60 or more credit hours completed by the start of the academic term of the award and 18 credit hours completed in electronic news sequence related courses. A 3.0 GPA in the major and a 2.5 GPA overall is required. Selection is based on the student’s interest in, and dedication to, electronic journalism; academic performance; participation in extracurricular activities on The University Channel, and/or the radio stations; advisor/professional evaluations, student’s expressed career goals; and financial need. Participation in the electronic news sequence during the period of the award is required. Three credit hours of internal internship with Dr. Guerra is anticipated. Recipients will be expected to serve either as a news program producer or in another role contributing to the production of news over cable channel 62.
Edith Woods Sweezy Memorial Fund
Awarded to graduate or undergraduate students with a major or minor in journalism who are interested in practicing print journalism in Arkansas or in the South. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and have financial need.
Gannett News Producer Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time student pursuing a Journalism or RTVF degree. Academic achievement, financial need, and a willingness to participate in the News Producer Internship Program will be considered. Student must be a Junior or Senior with 60 or more credit hours, with a minimum 3.0 GPA in the program and a 2.5 overall GPA.
Governor Orval E. Faubus Scholarship
Awarded to a journalism major or minor.
Harry Ashmore Journalism Scholarship
Awarded to a junior level student studying journalism.
Herbert and Gertrude Latkin Scholarship Fund
Awarded to graduate or undergraduate journalism majors. Financial need will be considered.
HOLA! Arkansas Hispanic Media Scholarship
Applicant must be a junior or senior level Hispanic student enrolled in a minimum of nine credit hours and seeking a degree in Mass Communications. Along with the scholarship application, student must include one paragraph describing their Hispanic heritage. Recipient must maintain a 2.5 GPA for renewed eligibility. Scholarship is renewable, but students must re-apply annually. The scholarship recipient may also serve as an intern at Today’s THV based on availability of positions. Recipients will also have opportunities to work with Hola Arkansas at community events.
IABC/Arkansas Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in Journalism, Public Relations, or Speech Communications. Preference will be given to juniors and seniors level students. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be equally considered.
J. Irby Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time graduate student in the School of Mass Communication pursuing a Master of Arts in print or broadcast journalism. Applicant must be enrolled in the summer semester. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be equally considered.
Jay Friedlander Scholarship
Awarded to journalism majors or minors.
Jerol Garrison Journalism Scholarship
Awarded to full-time or part-time students with a major or minor in journalism. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered along with dedication to the profession.
RD Doubleday Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in Radio, Television, and Film with an interest in Broadcast Management. Preference will be given to juniors and seniors. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
Robert L. Brown, Sr. Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time senior with at least 90 credit hours who has taken and passed with C or better no less than 18 RTVF credit hours. Award is based on academic performance, participation in extracurricular department activities (such as the KARN project and TV-29),an advisor evaluation, career goals, areas of study, and financial need.
Robert Hamilton Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time student majoring in Journalism or Radio, TV and Film with preference given to junior and senior level single parent students. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
Roy Mitchell Scholarship Fund
Awarded to juniors and seniors. Emphasis in studies must be in broadcast journalism. Academic accomplishment, financial need, and the desire to serve as an intern with KARK-TV in Little Rock will all be considered.
Signal Media Scholarship Award
Awarded to a student to provide assistance for any education related expenses, including tuition, books, or fees, while pursing a degree in communications at UALR.
Steve Stephens Golden Mic Award
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in broadcast journalism. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered. Preference will be given to a sophomore.
Television Broadcasters of Arkansas Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in mass communication with a goal of pursuing a career in broadcast television. Preference will be given to juniors and seniors. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
TreDay.com Scholarship Project
Awarded to an Arkansas high school graduate currently pursuing a degree in the School of Mass Communication. Applicants must do research on a specified topic and present a news story in one of three formats: radio – a 30 second audiotape on cassette or compact disk; television – a 30 second videotape on VHS or DVD or newspaper – a 1,000 word typed and printed article. News stories may be longer but no shorter than the minimum requirements. Topics will be available through the School of Mass Communication. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is March 7th each year.
William K. Rutherford Freedom of Information Scholarship
Awarded to a junior, senior, or graduate student with a major or minor in journalism who has a 3.0 GPA. Applicant must show professional promise, participate in journalism organizations, and continue to work and be interested in the Freedom of Information Act. Financial need will be considered.

AARP Chapter 34 Scholarship
Awarded to a second-year student in the School of Social Work pursuing a Master of Arts in Gerontology or a Master of Arts in Gerontology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work (dual program). Qualifications include a strong desire to work with the aging population, a second-year internship working with the elderly, demonstration of financial need, and a GPA of 3.25 or higher.
Dr. Nancy J. Harm Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time Master’s student who has successfully completed the first year of the MSW program and is entering their final year of graduate studies. Preference will be given to single parents and financial need will be strongly considered.
Dr. Robert E. Elliott Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of the Dr. Robert E. Elliott Memorial Scholarship is to provide assistance for any education related expenses, including but not limited to tuition, books, fees, and room and board for students pursuing or furthering a graduate degree in Social Work specializing in Mental Health. Applicants must submit an application accompanied by a personal letter explaining why they should receive the grant. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered. The recipient will be required to attend at least one board meeting of the Robert Elliott Foundation and participate in 3 of their major annual events.
Gisela Spieker Social Work Scholarship
Awarded to second-year graduate students who are dedicated to their studies and focused on academic achievement. Financial need will be considered secondary to academic achievement.
Rebecca Fuller Ward Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time MSW graduate student with preference given to U.S. citizens. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
