Fall 2009

Reach 12,000 was first begun in the fall of 2009, by the SGA 2009-2010 administration. The idea was initiated by President Christopher Smith, Vice-President Nital Desai and Chief of Staff Vinay Patel. The three initially wanted to do “Reach 10,000.” However, Dr. Charles Donaldson challenged them to reach 12,000 to represent the student body at that time.

SGA began the project in the summer of 2009 and ended November 1. The 2009-2010 administration exceeded their goal by raising over 16,000 items to help benefit the Arkansas Food Bank.
