Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

The School of Social Work is the only school or department at UALR that has established their own Day of Service in honor of Dr. King’s legacy of selfless service. We have approximately 40 volunteers already signed up for the event, but it is not too late to sign up! Please contact Dr. Miller at jwmillerjr@ualr.edu or 501-569-3074 if you have questions or would like to volunteer.

The details: We will meet in the Big Lots parking lot (near Regions Bank) at 8:00am on Monday, January 16th. At the time of the meeting, assignments will be given. Volunteers will go to Oak Forest Methodist Church to clean their medical and dental clinics, Arkansas Veterans Home to visit with the veterans, and Lions World Services for the Blind. After the service window (8:30 – 11:30), we will meet for lunch at US Pizza in the University District.
