All students who declare social work as their major (pre-majors or pre-admits) will be advised by LaShonda Norfolk in the CEHP Dean’s Office, Student Success Center, http://ualr.edu/cehp/student–successcenter/. To make an appointment with Lashonda, contact Belinda White at: 501.682.8625 or email: email@example.com.
LaShonda Norfolk will also advise students who have applied and been offered admission to the BSW program for their first semester of junior level BSW coursework. Students will be assigned a BSW Faculty advisor who will advise them for the remainder of their coursework while in the program. The BSW Coordinator will notify the student and advisor of these assignments during the summer.
In addition, it is the student’s responsibility to track her/his progress toward core and social work major requirements. Prior to each advising session with your advisor, you should review the appropriate advising form:
- the 120 hour program plan for those students coming in to the program in Fall 2012 or later (.xls file)
You will also need to identify the courses you plan to take in the upcoming semester. Your advisor will discuss this form with you and put an updated copy of the form in your file after each advising session. In the spring semester of your senior year, you and your advisor will have to complete and sign a degree plan before your graduation application can be approved.
