Core requirements

Social work majors must complete 44 credits of core coursework to satisfy the UALR core curriculum.  Students who have an AA/AS/AAT degree from a community college in Arkansas will have satisfied most core requirements already.  All social work majors must complete a biology course with a lab and 6 hours of social sciences to be satisfied by SOCI 2300: Introduction to Sociology and PSYC 2300: Psychology and the Human Experience.  Social work majors must also have at least 6 credit hours of foreign language.  More information about the core requirements for social work majors can be found in this PDF file.
