Miller, Peggy

I grew up in Batesville, Arkansas, and attended University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Ouachita Baptist University, and Lyon College. My first degree was in history; twenty years later I went back to school to get a Bachelors in Social Work. After living all over the southeast from Virginia to Texas, Colorado, and Puerto Rico, I settled in Arkansas. Being in the home furnishings business for fifteen years taught me some valuable lessons but changing to a service-oriented profession as a social worker changed my world view and outlook on life. I graduated from UALR in 1993 with an MSW. Working as a medical social worker, as a youth counselor, a psychotherapist in private practice, an environmental volunteer, and as a college instructor, my life has been enriched.
