Peace?

Do you believe that peace is actually attainable? If so, can it be done in a non-violent method? My view: Peace can only be achieved through the elimination an opposition. Even after that, there will be more death to the non-conformist. I am against this concept, although my name may state otherwise.
I find peace to be a paradox.
