Capstone is a fall and spring semester sequenced course in our BA program.
In the fall of the final year of the program, capstone students will complete an in-depth case analysis of a communication situation. For example, students might analyze a relational, family, or organizational situation that has relevance to their lives.
In the spring of the final year of the program, capstone students transition their case analyses to a formal presentation and rehearse regularly with an assigned faculty mentor. Capstone presentations take place in front of faculty, students, alumni, and other community members.
This experience continues to be both a source of confidence and pride for our students as well as an excellent opportunity to showcase the knowledge and skills our graduates bring to the workplace.
