University of Arkansas at Little Rock

Over the past few months several of our faculty have received renewed energy and excitement from our visits with you, the alumni of this program. We want to do more to share with you about events and plans that are part of a long standing tradition in this Department—seeking to improve the way we serve students and the community.

• What is ahead?
• We are working on a news link for our updated website. We hope this will provide a path for more regular updates. In fact, the link you followed is a sneak preview of our web page (not ready for prime time yet!).
• Open doors for more alumni visits to campus. We will keep you aware of opportunities to serve ranging from our Capstone day to guest visits to classes.
• More creative ways to raise funds to support students in the department. We are proud the initiative taken by Dr. Pledger, Michelle Phillips, and Anna Olson in this arena. Let us know if other ideas have.
• More regular updates on faculty research and workshops. Dr. Mirivel recently presented his work on communication competence to an ASTD meeting. We want to do more to provide such learning opportunities.
