2013 Jerry Crittenden Employee Book Scholarship Application

The Jerry Crittenden Employee Book Scholarship is a $75.00 book scholarship established by the Staff Senate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock to recognize the service and dedication of UALR employees and to assist in furthering their education at UALR. The scholarship is awarded to benefits-eligible employees.

Please complete both pages of the application. The fields are interactive so the form can be filled out and then printed, or if you have problems, you can print the form and then complete it. You may attach additional sheets if necessary. Other supporting information including a letter of recommendation from a supervisor or coworker is welcome but not required.

Scholarship Guidelines 2013-2014

Purpose

The scholarship fund was established by the Staff Senate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in memory of Jerry Crittenden, past president of the Staff Senate, to recognize theservice and dedication of UALR employees and to assist in furthering their education at UALR.

Value of the Scholarship

Individual scholarships will be limited to a $75.00 UALR Bookstore Voucher. Up to four scholarships may be awarded in an academic year.

Eligibility

Any recipient of the scholarship must be a benefits-eligible employee and registered in a course during the 2013-14 academic school year.

Award Criteria

The scholarship committee will make award decisions based primarily on the applicant’s service to UALR and need for the scholarship. The following criteria will be among those considered:
1. Years of service to UALR
2. Financial need
3. GPA
4. Credit hours completed toward the degree sought

Administration

The members of the scholarship committee or awards ceremony committee, to be appointed by the Staff Senate, will administer the fund. The committee, based on available funding and need, will recommend the amount and number of scholarships. The committee will consist of at least three members, none of whom are applying for the scholarship.
Scholarships for the fall semester of each academic year will be announced at the Staff Awards Ceremony the preceding spring.
