Did you know you can support your UALR Staff Senate just by shopping at Kroger and using your Kroger Plus Card AT NO COST TO YOU?

Kroger grocery stores offer Community Rewards to non-profit organizations, and you can choose UALR Staff Senate to be the recipient of a percentage of your purchases!

1. Log in (or if you haven’t already, sign up) at Kroger.com and go to Community Rewards under your Account Settings.
2. Search for “UALR Staff Senate” and you’ll be given the option to link your card to our organization.

Our first blood drive of the academic year was a success! Thirty-four (34) units were collected on Wednesday, and 52 units were collected on Thursday for a total of 86 units!

Special thanks go to Chelsea Bishop Ward, Brad Patterson, Frances Frazier, Nick Steele, Christopher Hickman, Sabrenna Rodgers-Lee, Michael Yang, Cindy McKinney, Allen Houston, Chuck Werninger, and Rikki Turner for volunteering at the sites (some on both days!), and to Dan Shelton, Staff Senate Blood Drive Committee Chairman.

A total of 32 teams participated in the Grand Opening of the Coleman Sports and Recreation Complex. Chancellor’s Leadership Corps collected 2,700 non-perishable items for the Reach 13,000 campaign benefiting the Arkansas Food Bank as well as Helping Hands.

Staff Senators made a great show at the Kickball Kickoff and even won their first game. However, Pi Kappa Alphas ultimately defeated Kappa Sigmas to become the overall winners. Congrats to Pi Kappa Alpha and CLC for a successful event!

Come out and support your fellow Senators at the Grand Slam cookout and kickball event to inaugurate new sports complex and the annual student food drive, Reach 13,000 from 5 to 11 p.m. Remember to bring a non-perishable food item.

The new Coleman Sports and Recreation Complex is next to the University Village.

The UALR Staff Senate will host the 2012 Staff Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony will be held in the Donaghey Student Center, Ledbetter Halls A,B, & C, with a reception to follow on the Upper Concourse.

Please plan on joining us and supporting your co-workers as they are being honored for their years of service to the university, earning a degree, receiving an award, or for recently retiring. It’s time to celebrate our university and the wonderful staff that makes a difference here at UALR.

Come join us today for our FRIDAY the 13th BLOOD DRIVE!

We have a Donation Station set up in the Housing Commons building as well as a Bloodmobile in front of the Housing Commons building. Come visit us on the hill from 10 am - 4 pm and help save 3 lives with your donation!

We will be playing movies for those waiting, music will be playing for those who are donating, and we will have popcorn and plenty of snacks!

It’s a win-win! Stop in for a taste of U.S. Pizza on March 30th from 5 PM till 10 PM. 10% of all sales, both eat-in and take-out, will be donated to the UALR Staff Senate.

Deadline for Staff Scholarship nomination is Wednesday, March 28th at 5pm. So if you know a deserving staff member who is continuing education and shows dedication and service to UALR, nominate them for a scholarship!
