Blackboard Collaborate lets you invite special guests, field experts, colleagues, and others to your “live” session. Guest participants can interact with your students and share vital information, materials, and experience. No Blackboard log-in is required to access the guest link for a Collaborate session.
You have two options to create a guest link; here we will discuss how to make a Collaborate Session Link. This option lets you setup a guest invitation prior to your upcoming session via email.
Once you have created a Collaborate session, simply access it through the Control Panel > Course Tools > Blackboard Collaborate. You can access your session by scrolling over the “session listings.” When the gray chevron (action link) appears, select “edit.” This will open the “Update Session” options.
Select the “Participation,” tab and scroll to option two (2) “Guest Invitees.” Select the option to “Allow Unregistered Guests.
At this point you can also send an email to the “Guest Invitees,” box by adding the guest’s name and “email address.” The name will appear in the “Selected Invitees” area. Click “Submit.”
Your guest will receive a Collaborate session invitation email with session details and a link to join the session. A guest link will also be accessible from the session drop-down menu from then on.
