Recording in Collaborate

In addition to holding live Collaborate sessions, moderators can record sessions for playback at a later time.  This is also a great way to record lectures.  Simply access the session and press the record button at the top right of the Collaborate interface.

When finished, press the button again and exit the session.  The recording will be processed and available from the Collaborate List Page within 24 hours.

There are a number of ways to provide access to students.  For instance, provide them with access to the Collaborate List Page to see all recordings, or link directly to a recording within a content area. Guest links for recordings can also be created and shared via email.

By integrating the session into the grade center, students can receive points for either attending a live session or viewing the recording.  Students can also be given moderator access to specially created sessions so they can record presentations.

To learn more about recording in Collaborate see the Quick Start Guide.  For more resources visit the “Help” tab in Blackboard.
