Multimedia

Enrich your students' learning experience with multimedia!

We can help you produce professional-quality audio and video, or create interactive Flash modules that your students can access online. Simply call (501) 569-8954 to set up a consultation.

At UALR, we stream our audio and video files, which means the audio or video is being heard or seen while it is being delivered rather than being downloaded to a user's computer. Streaming video and audio takes less bandwidth than downloading the files, and helps prevent unauthorized copying and distribution of these files. We provide this streaming media in various formats: Real Media, QuickTime and Windows Media. To have your existing audio or video files uploaded to our streaming server, please contact STaR. Be sure you have written permission from the owners of copyrighted materials!

To encode Real Media video for uploading onto the server, please follow our protocol and use this Video Encoding Ticket (PDF) when you bring your files to us on tape or disk.

Video production takes time. Plan on 6-8 weeks to get a place in the queue, prepare, shoot and for us to complete post-production on your video. Our Video Timeline and Checklist (PDF) outlines the video production process and what you can expect.

Each of the pieces listed below comes from a variety of disciplines and represents a sampling of effective ways to use multimedia for teaching and learning:
