The Steps to Putting a Course Online: Where do I start? How much work is this really going to be? The best tip is to start small.
Your course goals describe the overall purpose of the course - what you, as an instructor, want students to walk away with when the course is completed.
Chunking your course helps in the process of course design. A chunk could be a week, a chapter, a unit or a topic.
Learning objectives of one chunk (often called performance objectives or competencies), are brief, clear, specific statements of what learners will be able to perform at the conclusion of instructional activities.
Develop your chunk or module to include various forms of assessment, points, and of course, learning activities, all which relate back to the learning objectives.
Online learning activities expand the possibilities for engaging learners.

A syllabus is defined as "a concise statement of the main points of a course of study or subject" according to UALR's Faculty Handbook.
The current Disability Support Statement must be included in your syllabus.
Reformatting your syllabus by adding additional information when technology (such as a listserv, email, electronic portfolio tool, or WebCT is used) sets up students for success from the beginning of the semester.
