Camping equipment can be expensive to purchase. This service gives you the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities without a big investment. We do have limited quantities of equipment, so plan ahead and reserve your equipment in advance of your outing!

Camping equipment is available for rental in the Equipment Services room (109D). Experienced staff members are available when picking up equipment and returning equipment. You can receive instructions on tent set-up, stove use, and much more.

Rental Policies

1. Rental equipment are available to UALR students and faculty/staff with current DSC memberships. A valid UALR ID is required.
2. Reservations can be made in person up to one week in advance at the Equipment Service office. The full rental fee must be paid upon making a reservation. Any unreserved equipment is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
3. Rental rates are determined as follows:
   - Daily - 24 hour period (Monday-Friday)
   - Weekend - (Friday-Monday)
   - Week - 7 day period
4. A refund, less a $5.00 administrative fee, will issued for reservations cancelled more than 48 hours prior to pick-up. Cancellation within 48 hours of pick-up will not be eligible for a credit or refund.
5. No credit or refund will be issued for items rented, but not used for early return. Rain checks will not be issued.
6. Late fees will be assessed at 1.5 times the daily rate for each day the equipment is late past the agreed return date.
7. Equipment must be properly cleaned, dried, and packed prior to its return. Users will be assessed a cleaning fee for equipment that is returned dirty.
8. Fee will be assessed at the current retail price for repair or replacement of damaged or lost equipment.
9. Individuals abusing equipment or not following procedures may be ineligible to rent equipment in the future.
10. All participants are limited to renting two of each item per person.
