There are several different types of programs that you can choose from to be able to study abroad.  From our UALR faculty-led programs, to university partners, to our affiliated partner program, and finally to approved independent programs.  You customize your time abroad – the options are endless!

Not sure what to choose?  Read below for information regarding each type of program:

  • UALR Summer Programs - These programs are offered typically from late May to early August every summer.  Each year, the UALR Department of International and Second Language Studies arranges study abroad programs for language studies.
  • UALR Faculty-Led Programs - These programs are designed by faculty in different colleges at UALR and allow students to travel on shorter term programs.  Travel time for these programs generally does not exceed 10 days.
  • University Partners - UALR has signed agreements with sister universities around the world to offer both incoming and outgoing students a chance to study abroad.
  • Affiliated Partners - UALR has also partnered with several study abroad program providers, who work directly with our students to fit your study abroad needs.  These programs are often all-inclusive and typically have discounts for UALR students.
  • Independent Programs – UALR will review proposed independent programs that students arrange, but they must be approved by the UALR Study Abroad Director.
